The Drug-Free Safety Program (DFSP) provides a discount for promoting a work environment free of drugs and alcohol.
Potential Incentive: 4% for DFSP basic; 7% for DFSP advanced.
The program was created to help spur job creation in the state by offering significant discounts on workers’ compensation to new employers. (BWC considers a new employer as a new business entity or an out-of-state business that creates one or more jobs.)
Potential Incentive:
Employers that have had no lapses in coverage during the past 60 months can receive a premium discount.
Potential Incentive: 1% premium discount (up to $2,000 per policy period).
A staff leasing/professional employer organization (PEO) is a company that enters into a contractual agreement to employ all or part of the work force for a client employer and then leases those workers back to the client employer on a permanent basis. Premiums are paid to the PEO.
Potential Incentive: 0-25% savings below BWC Premium Rates.
Employers can increase safety awareness and receive a premium rebate by participating in a local safety council. They can earn an additional rebate for reductions in claims frequency and severity.
Potential Incentive: 3% with a max savings of $5,000.
Employers with an approved transitional work plan may receive a back-end discount for using it to return injured workers to the workplace in a safe, timely manner.
Potential Incentive: 10% bonus for using an established transitional work program; applicable to claims with dates of injury within that policy year.
Employers that have not received a transitional work grant from BWC in the past may apply for funds to help them contract with certified transitional work developers to establish a transitional work program in their workplace.
Potential Incentive: 10% bonus for using an established transitional work program; applicable to claims with dates of injury within that policy year.
The 15K Program allows an employer to pay up to the first $15,000 in medical expenses for employees who suffer work-related injuries that result in seven or fewer lost days from work. This Program is Not Recommended.
Potential Savings: Employers will receive minimal savings even when the program is administered properly.
